In 2019, BCLS contracted with Library Market to design a new website, calendar, and online room reservation system. During the 6-month project, I met weekly with the BCLS Director and Library Market staff, and was responsible for providing content links, analytics, branding guidelines, embed codes, refreshed text content, and site map assistance.

During the 6-month project, I met weekly with the BCLS Director and Library Market staff, and was responsible for providing content links, analytics, branding guidelines, embed codes, refreshed text content, and site map assistance.
As part of preparation, I created surveys for patrons and staff to find out what features and capabilities each wanted from our new site. Below are the patron and staff surveys, which were available online as a Google Form and in house for those who prefer pen and paper. Per staff request, additional questions regarding adult programming were added to the patron survey.

There were nearly 700 patron responses, which was twice what we hoped to receive!
Additionally, I was tasked with training all BCLS staff members on the calendar, maintaining the website including page building, graphics creation, taxonomy restructuring, and managing staff user roles.

Since launch in September 2019, I have acted as site administrator, working with staff across all departments to ensure content is up-to-date.

Special Program Webpage: LENA Start
This page required special attention to strict branding and copyright guidelines provided by the LENA Start organization.
I gathered information for copy through the BCLS staff program contact. Additionally, I watched webinars and studied LENA Start's YouTube and Social Media pages.
The resulting page was applauded by LENA Start and is used as an example for other participating organizations who want to add the program to their own websites.
